Biography
Chancy was born in the Philippines, studied Dental Medicine, and completed Dental Technology before coming to France. Even though her studies are in Dental Medicine, her main interest is in applied arts, creating things that are not just beautiful but are helpful and educational.
Chancy always enjoyed working with children, being exposed to voluntary works (church and community services), and scholastics special training programs for primary and secondary levels. She has worked with children through arts and crafts, helping them explore, discover, create, and express themselves.
Upon arriving in France, Chancy worked with children as a caregiver, and it was through that network, she began working at L’Ecole Koenig, where she has been since 2009.
Chancy is trained in first aid from the French Red Cross and completed a two-year training in Montessori Education in Paris as an educator of children 3-6 years of age. Being exposed to Montessori and Musical learning allowed her to understand and respect the children’s freedom to choose how they learn, follow their inherent impulses, and gently guide them.
In addition to her interests in arts and crafts, Chancy bakes and decorates cakes. It has been her secret garden for years now.
