We're transforming how children learn to read music through playing and collaboration!

Instrument-oriented: mastering through doing
Collaborative: making music together
Ear Opening: exploring a myriad of musical traditions
Motivational:
driven by joy

Why is this important?
Too many children give up music before truly experiencing its true rewards. Our approach creates multiple entry points, ensuring lasting musical journeys for every kind of learner.
By reframing rigor through immersive exploration, we cultivate musical fluency that resonates with how children naturally learn. For newcomers, a placement assessment is required to ensure optimal growth and enjoyment.

Founder and Artistic Director, Joan Koenig
Visionary educator, Juilliard-trained musician, and author of "The Musical Child," Joan Koenig has revolutionized early childhood development through music. For four decades, she has been proving what science now confirms: music and the arts are the keys to unlocking extraordinary academic and social development in children.
Since founding her acclaimed Parisian conservatory L'Ecole Koenig over thirty years ago, Joan has developed a curriculum based on cutting-edge neuroscience that enhances mathematical thinking, language acquisition, and emotional intelligence. Her innovative approach has transformed traditional education and caught the attention of experts worldwide.
Drawing from her rich background as a Juilliard soloist and her explorations in diverse musical traditions, Joan brings exceptional artistic depth to her educational mission. Through her school, books, and global advocacy, she continues to orchestrate a revolution that's transforming how we nurture young minds and build a lifelong love of music and the arts.
About the Koenig Conservatory Teaching Team
At Koenig Conservatory, our instructors bring genuine artistic excellence and teaching passion to every discipline. Our dance faculty includes performers with professional company experience. Theater and musical comedy programs are led by directors and actors who understand stagecraft from both sides of the curtain. Musicians teaching everything from ukulele band to choir bring formal training alongside real-world performance experience.
These accomplished artists don't just teach. They continue to create, perform, and evolve in their fields, bringing fresh perspectives directly from the artistic frontlines to our studios and classrooms. The conservatory provides professional-quality facilities where students work with instructors who combine technical expertise with the ability to inspire the next generation of artists.

Value of Arts Education
At Koenig Conservatory, we speak the Arts! Each distinct program, from dance and visual arts to bilingual theater and rock groups, offers children a unique language for self-expression and discovery. Whether a child finds their voice in choir, their rhythm in ukulele club, or their presence on stage through musical comedy, our dedicated artistic pathways provide the space and guidance to transform passion into mastery.
