Age 7 and up : our Jazz & Rock section guarantees a solid musical education. Many teachers and collaborators in the Jazz & Rock section are distinguished performing musicians on the Paris scene and internationally.
Piano, guitar and drum students follow a 30-minute individual lesson each week (a 45-minute individual lesson for more advanced students) and either a Music Theory (Formation Musicale, one hour) class, or a Jazz & Rock multi-instrumental/guitar ensemble.
The ensembles allow the students to play together and to explore new repertoire, such as jazz, rock, blues or even Cuban.
Please note that each ensemble may integrate more than one pianist, guitarist or drummer. Pianists are able to explore the piano/electric keyboard while drummers, the congas as well as the drum set. We also enroll new students throughout the year if the demand arises.
The American Conservatory provides varied opportunities to perform: we believe that the earlier the child begins performing, the greater his/her confidence will be. Twice a year, our students in the Jazz & Rock section perform at “Le Bal Blomet”.
The American Conservatory encourages our students to prepare for the RockSchool exams organized at our music school each year in June. These exams are internationally recognized and can be a strong source of motivation.
